Grosvenor House Dubai launches Dubai Eklektic CD

Hotelier Middle East Staff, December 2nd, 2010

Grosvenor House Dubai has launched Dubai Eklektic, a double CD musical journey of down-tempo and up-tempo tracks “inspired by the dynamism of Dubai”.

The mix was created by Buddha Bar’s very own DJ Ravin and DJ Nicholas Sechaud.

The first CD is a blend of up-tempo ethnic music. Smart and upbeat; listeners can expect to enjoy an eclectic mix of sounds from around the world. The second CD in this bespoke compilation opens with the sounds of the sea, echoing the hotel’s location on the glittering waters of the Arabian Gulf, before progressing into a seamless blend of down-tempo and mid-tempo grooves.

The mix reflects the popular venues at Grosvenor House Dubai: from the modern British flavours of Rhodes Mezzanine to the exotic Turkish beats inspired by Ottomans, closing with the nu-jazz sounds of the popular Bar 44.

“We are extremely proud of Dubai Eklektic, a truly unique compilation which captures the essence of the city from the perspective of Grosvenor House Dubai. The double-CD release is a brilliant mix of tracks that really reflect the energy of Dubai,” said Pam Wilby, complex general manager for Grosvenor House and Le Royal Méridien Beach Resort + Spa Dubai.

“The very best in world music, the first CD in this collection offers the listeners a mix of ethnic and electronic tracks which capture the eclectic sounds of this cosmopolitan hotel” said DJ Ravin.

“I have drawn my inspiration for CD 2 from the marvelously city that we are living in. CD 2 is a culmination of all of the innovation and inspiration that has gone into the music I have mixed and produced since my arrival in Dubai a few years ago. As always it has been a true honour to work alongside DJ Ravin on Dubai Eklektic,” said DJ Nicholas Sechaud.

The compilation, which will be sold in 60 countries worldwide, is now available at Buddha Bar, Grosvenor House Dubai and all Virgin outlets across the UAE and GGC. The music will also be available on mobile operators and web services across the Middle East.
