VIDEO: Protesters attack London's Ritz hotel

The Ritz hotel in Piccadilly, London was attacked as marches against government spending cuts turned violent.

More than 400,000 people took part in the demonstrations, but a splinter group broke away and attacked buildings and police vans with smoke bombs and paint.

The 'March for the alternative' was organised by the TUC and more than 214 arrests have been made.
