Le Bistrot to go organic

Harriet Sinclair, April 19th, 2011

Le Bistrot at Le Méridien Abu Dhabi is going sustainable. This concept — the first of its kind in the UAE — will include serving organic local food, as well as implementing energy savings and recycling measures.

The new menu at Le Bistrot will include locally sourced vegetables from Abu Dhabi Organic Farm and poultry from Al Semman Farm in Al Ain.

In addition, the restaurant will serve biodynamic beverages and use decomposed waste materials to fertilise the garden patch on the terrace of the restaurant.

The concept follows Le Meridien Abu Dhabi’s participating in the successful ‘choose wisely’ fishing campaign initiated by Emirates Wildlife Society (EWS) and the World Wildlife Fund (WWF).
