Pullman Dubai Mall of the Emirates was presented with a ‘Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Patron of the Arts Award’ this week.

The hotel’s contribution to the arts was recognised at an elite event attended by members of the Royal family, and was presented with one of the 40 awards handed out to individuals and organisations who had contributed to the arts.

“We feel very honoured to be a part of this, considering that we opened the hotel merely seven months ago,” said Laurent Chaudet, General Manager of Pullman Dubai Mall of the Emirates.

“Pullman Dubai Mall of the Emirates is very fortunate to be working together with entities that are very passionate about the subject. The Arts is a key part of our lives. It is a way of expressing ourselves and a testament to who we are and the society that we live in,” he added.

Organised by the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority (Dubai Culture), the patrons of the arts were honoured for their contribution towards Dubai’s cultural scene.

The awards were presented in four categories: ‘Distinguished Patrons of the Arts,’ ‘Patrons of the Arts,’ ‘Supporters of the Arts,’ and ‘Friends of the Arts.’

The honourees, together, contributed over AED 130 million in financial or in-kind contribution towards the cultural initiatives and events hosted in Dubai during 2010.
