Five compete for Caterer's top pastry chef title


Hotelier Middle East Staff, August 18th, 2011

The names of the region’s top five  pastry chefs have been released by the Caterer Middle East Awards 2011 team.

But which of these five pastry professionals will prove their pastry is better than the rest. We’ll find out at on September 7 at the Jumeirah Zabeel Saray on The Palm Jumeirah.

In the meantime, here are the names of the competing candidates: 


Pastry Chef of the Year

• Gilles Favre, Dubai World Trade Centre
• Antony Fernandez, The Ritz-Carlton Bahrain

• Sally Handoko, junior pastry sous chef, Fairmont Dubai
• Khaled Mohamed Rashwan, The Ritz-Carlton Doha
• Antony Nicholas Hoyle, executive pastry chef, Madinat Jumeirah
