Caterer Middle East's top waiter revealed

The Caterer Middle East award for Waiter of the Year went to Pheang Nary, from C-Taste Restaurant at Centro Barsha Hotel in Dubai.

Pheang impressed the judges with her commitment to improving her own skills, knowledge and experience. She has received excellent feedback from both guests and staff and even gets stuck in inventing her own drinks!

Unfortunately Pheang couldn't make it to the awards last night but her manager Mohan Raja Pakse - who nominated her for the award - was there to pick it up on her behalf.

Pakse said: "I am really proud to be her manager. Congratulations to her. I really do wish that she was here to receive this award."

He added that Pheang, who has been with the restaurant for just over a year, was "very passionate about her job. She takes it very personally, she looks after the guests." 

"I can always depend on her. When I see her in the restaurant I know everything is going in the right direction. She is a good team player and she is a star." 

The two highly-commended nominees were Verre by Gordon Ramsay's Gaynor Hubert and Cavalli Club, Restaurant and Lounge's Nuwan Sampath Hibutugoda.
