Former Egypt tourism head gets three-year sentence

September 20th, 2011

Egypt has sentenced its former tourism minister, Zuhair Garanah, to three years in jail.

Garanah was convicted of issuing illegal operating licences to tourism companies, in a report released by the state news agency.

He is already serving a jail sentence, having been sentenced in May to a five-year term for squandering public funds.
