The Speciality Food Festival, which runs from October 25-27, 2011 at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre has added 12 countries to its exibitor list.
The event, developed by the Dubai World Trade Centre, is intended to bring together the world’s finest artisan food and beverages exclusively for trade and business professionals from the Middle East.
This year’s new exhibitors include Canada, Chile, Cyprus, Germany, Greece, India, Ireland, Mexico, Pakistan, Russia, South Africa and Sri Lanka.
"The Middle East is a thriving market for high-end, quality food products and Dubai is the hub of many of the region’s most respected gourmet chefs and restaurants,” said Trixee Loh, senior vice president of Dubai World Trade Centre.
“The Speciality Food Festival is an excellent platform for international suppliers to enter or increase their share in the market, and also for local companies to expand into new territory and establish themselves as premium producers abroad.”
The show is split into four different sections: gourmet, seafood, halal and organic, and will now feature a range of premium products broader than ever before.
Many of the Middle East’s producers and suppliers will be exhibiting, alongside exhibitors from Europe and Australia.
Educational seminars will also be run at the event, alongside 'Chef’s Corner' – a series of live cuisine demonstrations and tastings presented by the Baking and Pastry Guild. Chef’s Corner will include respected local chefs including Maitre Chocolatier Daniel Hutmacher, Executive Chef at Al Shalal Beach Club EnzoNeri, owner of Empire Chefs Catering Karl-Heinz Reichert, Gerhard Eichhorn from Manitowoc & Convotherm and Peter Hallmanns, Advisory Chef at Fonterra Brands.
