With a galaxy of hotels being built in Qatar in preparation for World Cup 2022, Santos said this is the right time for the establishment of the group as high quality of concierge services is necessary in meeting guest requirements to satisfy their requests.
“Through networking, we help each other in satisfying the requests of guests which should normally be given immediately,” he said.

Since they are in direct contact with guests, hotel concierges have a very important role to play, being the ones who respond to guest’s requests and complaints, he explained.

Currently, QCS’s application is being processed by the Qatar Tourism Authority to have its own committee and eventually make it an independent chapter of Les Clef d’Or.

Formed in France in 1929, Les Clef d’Or is the professional association of concierges which has more than 3000 members in 40 countries.

Once they become Les Clefs d’Or Qatar the group’s ultimate goal is to be one of the high caliber concierges in the world such as the US and Europe, said Santos who is the first Les Clef’ d’Or member in Qatar which currently has six members.

QCS has 33 members from 12 four and five star hotels who meet monthly. Since its launch, there has been a marked improvement in the level of customer service among its members who have now made their services more personalised, according to Santos.
