Mina Al Fajer Real Estate LLC is pushing ahead with the development of its Fairmont-managed hotel in Dibba, Fujairah, which is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2012.

The company, responsible for the AED 500 million Mina Al Fajer resort, announced yesterday that it has appointed Intermass Engineering & Contracting Co. L.L.C to construct the hotel.

Vice chairman of Mina Al Fajer Real Estate LLC Ahmed Bin Ali Al Dhaheri commented: “As we look forward to an accomplishment that is drawing ever so near, the next phase signals near completion, where every step has been a vindication of the achievement of years’ of hard work and commitment by each and every individual who has been engaged in the development from the very start. Everything is in place and Fujairah’s new oasis is well on track for bringing in exuberant travellers to the emirate.”

The Fairmont hotel represents the final phase of the Mina Al Fajer development, which comprises a marina, retail outlets, restaurants and sea-front villas and luxury apartments.

Al Dhaheri was optimistic about the construction completion of the Fairmont property within a year.

He said that the Mina Al Fajer project had in some ways escaped the challenges faced by the real estate sector during the financial crisis in other emirates, such as Dubai.

“But the truth of the matter is that this development site is rather rare and unique. The completion of the man-made marina, scenic location nestled in the Hajjar mountain chain and proposed Fairmont hotel go a long way in making this a very special resort,” Al Dhaheri said.

The apartments and Solarium Villas have already been handed over to buyers and the handing over of the Mountain Villas is currently underway.

Purpose built for high net worth individuals, the residential components have been designed as mid- to long-term investment opportunity for GCC nationals seeking an exclusive residence or holiday home.

Mina Al Fajer Resort is being developed under the auspices and vision of His Highness Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Khalifa Al Nahyan, chairman of Mina Al Fajer.
