Dubai Airport offers tired travellers 'sleep pods'

Louise Birchall, October 18th, 2011

Dubai International Airport has become the first airport in the Middle East to offer modular sleeping pods for travellers.

Ten ‘SnoozeCubes’ have been installed across from Gate 122 at Dubai International Airport’s Terminal 1.

The new ‘SnoozeCube’ accommodation units contain a full-size bed, a touch-screen television, high-speed internet access, and are connected to the airport’s flight-information system.

During the pilot phase, the SnoozeCube can be booked on an hourly basis with rates starting from AED 65 ($18) per hour for the first four hours.

SnoozeCube was designed and built in New Zealand.
