The Hotelier Middle East Awards Concierge of the Year award 2011 was won by Jerome Rodrigo from the Crowne Plaza Abu Dhabi.
Referred to as a 'legend' by regular Crowne Plaza guests, Jerome has been with the hotel since 1995, and became chief concierge in 1997.
As president of the Abu Dhabi Concierge Group and assistant general secretary of Les Clefs d’Or UAE, Jerome is one of the most prominent concierges working in the region today. The judges were impressed with his commitment to developing his team and increasing transportation revenue through a new incentive programme.
On receiving the award, Jerome said he was "very happy to come back and win this year after being shortlisted last year".

Being a concierge is a passion," said Jerome, "and I'd like to contine as much as possible to serve the hotel, and to serve the people.
"I could have changed my career and done something else but for any typical concierge his passion is this, and to wear Les Clefs d’Or badge - that's what make him proud."
He put his success down to an complete insider city knowledge of Abu Dhabi. "I am very good on the locations in Abu Dhabi – when I first came here some of the streets did not even exist or have names – but I know the whole city inside out."
Randy Santos from InterContinental Doha was highly commended for the award.
