Midamar Halal Foods, America’s first and largest Halal brand, is exhibiting at the American Pavilion at SIAL Abu Dhabi from November 21-23.
It will be introducing new USDA certified halal organic beef and chicken line. Visitors will also get to sample its making award-winning authentically Greek halal gyros, and its signature Halal franks.
Allfreshco, based in Outsource City Dubai is now distributing Midamar halal premium beef products to restaurants in places like the Rotana hotels and the Armani cafe. Delegates at SIAL Abu Dhabi will be able to learn more about more than 200 premium halal food products.
Midamar was established in 1974 and was the first halal food company in the USA to export USDA-approved protein products to the Middle East. Since then Midamar has worked with the USDA and international organisations to develop halal standards and processes.
In August 2011, the halal food pioneer was awarded the Distinguished Community Service Award from the USDA's Center for Faith Based and Neighborhood Partnerships. Midamar was the first USA company to receive the USDA award.
It was director Jalel Aossey’s grandfather who started the business in Iowa in 1915, while his father established Midamar in 1974. The company now sells food products in North America, Africa, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia.
“From the outset, our mission was to provide premium quality, Midwestern meat and poultry to halal consumers in the USA and around the world, and to do this while maintaining the strictest halal compliance standards,” said Aossey.
“We exhibited at SIAL last year and had the opportunity to meet our customers and learn more about their needs and what is happening in the region,” he added.
“We also met many prospective customers and others in the food industry. It is a brilliant and dynamic show that we at Midamar, wouldn’t miss.”
