Abu Dhabi National Hotels (ADNH) is investing US $10 million in renovating one of the UAE’s oldest hotels, Hilton Al Ain, which opened back in 1971.

Phase one of the refurbishment will include the Hiltonia gym, which is already complete, guest rooms, F&B facilities and the lobby.

The work is due to be completed by Q1 2012.

Hilton Al Ain general manager Adham El Sebaey said: “This refurbishment is a very important and valuable investment for our owning company ADNH. To have a hotel with such a rich heritage and impact in the country is a unique opportunity and must therefore have state-of-the-art facilities to offer the global consumer market.

“Phase one of the project will as before mentioned be completed in Q1 2012 and have been projected to have an estimated value of $10 million. Phase two will be an equally important phase in this project and will have a sizeable investment linked to it as well,” El Sebaey added.

He said that all elements of the guest rooms would be “brand new”, from the décor to the printed collateral to the bathrooms.

“It will be a transition that will keep the guest satisfaction level high, it will please every need and leave the guests with a sensation of being pampered in a way not experienced before,” said El Sebaey.

“The technological setup will as well match the requirements of a modern traveller, everything will be at hand.”

Refurbishments of Paco’s Bar and the sports bar, Snooker Club, are already complete.

The hotel has also launched an Indian Take Away concept.

“Our city has embraced this project with overwhelming positive feelings,” commented El Sebaey.

“The next project will be our café in the seven-story atrium that forms the heart of the hotel (Palm Court Café),” he said. “This extremely busy café will also be completely refurbished in a brand new modern and contemporary design that still preserves the unique heritage the hotel contains.”

El Sebaey added that the hotel was also planning to launch a branded Japanese restaurant.

“Also within a foreseeable future Hilton Al Ain will feature the first ever Japanese Restaurant in town. The brand is a very well known and highly reputed in the country,” said El Sebaey.
