Marriott named best hospitality employer in UAE

Marriott International was named the best hotel group employer in the UAE at the first Catererglobal.com Best Employers in Hospitality Awards 2011 UAE.

The group, which includes the Ritz-Carlton brand, beat Hilton Worldwide, Rotana Hotels, Jumeirah Group and Starwood Hotels and Resorts to the title at the inaugural awards, held on November 30 at Fort Island, Madinat Jumeirah.

Designed to recognise the best employers in the business, the Awards were voted for by around 24,000 hotel professionals working in the UAE.

In the four-star category, Nour Arjaan by Rotana won best four-star hotel (small) award, while the Millennium Airport Hotel Dubai walked away with the best four-star hotel (large) trophy.
The best employers in the five-star category were Ritz-Carlton (small hotel) and Sheraton Jumeirah Beach Resort and Towers (large hotel).
The best restaurant employer award was tightly fought, with Bite Café narrowly beating Wild Ginger to the trophy.
