Mondo Hospitality, the new operator of the former Dusit Princess Dubai will revamp the property - to be renamed the Suha City Hotel - to give it a "new and cosmopolitan" look.
"There will be rebranding over time of the hotel to fit in within the Suha Mondo Hospitality brand standards," Mondo Group CEO Hasan Khan told Hotelier Middle East.
"The facilities will be re-conceptualised to a new and stylish cosmopolitan outlook. Operational systems, sales strategies, market penetration, reservation processes and overall service standards will be transformed."
Some of the existing staff of the hotel, which was taken over by Mondo from Dusit International on November 30, have been retained by Mondo Hospitality while some were redeployed by Dusit, according to Khan.
"We will introduce and passionately integrate the Mondo culture in training," he said.
In Dubai, Mondo Hospitality also operates the Suha Hotel Apartments along The Walk of Jumeirah Beach and Al Barsha Hotel Apartments. In London, the firm operates four hotel-apartment properties.
"Although this is our first hotel in the Middle East, we have been running hotel apartments in the region for some time. Mondo Hospitality is a lean operator of hotels and hotel apartments with 130 years of collective experience in management within the hospitality sector and thus we feel, Mondo has a good model and platform to expand within the region.
"When the owner asked us to take on this hotel we were thrilled. We plan to expand our portfolio in the Middle East region and this is a great step in the right direction," Khan revealed.
He added that the deal was "strategic" and the group would be announcing new projects in the region in the "coming year".
