Luxury UAE hotels switch to Protel PMS software

Dubai-based Jebel Ali International Hotels (JAIH) has partnered with German hotel software company Protel to provide central data management across the four hotels in its portfolio.

Director of the protel subsidiary in Dubai, Magued Malek, said JAIH was a new client for the company, with the four hotels switching to Protel’s Multi Property Edition by the end of 2011.

“Protel MPE, the central management system, transforms a global hotel chain into a single unit,” said Malek. “As all connected hotels access the same guest information from a central database, data and functions are available in real time at every property.”

David Thompson, regional general manager at JAIH, said the flexibility of the software allowed for the satisfaction of even the most discerning guests.

“Protel’s wide range of add-ons and interfaces ensures smooth data exchange between the hotel software and external systems. Due to this and the great support by the Protel Interface Team, the connection between Protel and our in-house POS system, for instance, was no problem at all,” Thompson said.

In Abu Dhabi, the Rocco Forte Collection has installed Protel at its first property to open in the Middle East, Rocco Forte Abu Dhabi.

Again, the Multi Property Edition software system ensures the hotel is connected to the 12 other Rocco Forte Hotels, which are located in Europe.
