More than 100,000 room nights were sold last year at the 504-room Ramada Hotel & Suites Ajman in the UAE, an increase of 28% on the previous year.

The hotel catered for 151 nationalities throughout the year, with a majority of bookings made by Indian guests. This was followed by the US, Pakistan, Germany and Russia, while about 7% of bookings were made by Emirati families.

General manager Iftikhar Hamdani said: “We are pleased to share our major accomplishment in 2011 and at the same time congratulate the staff and management in their efforts in making Ramada Ajman Hotel & Suites the top seller in rooms in the northern emirates. We are very proud of this result and we hope to continue the momentum this year and onwards.

“We have achieved this growth because of our effort to attract both corporate and leisure segments. We have upgraded our facilities, thus, we’ve seen a 49% increase in the leisure segment, apart from the corporate market that we serve.”

The hotel is the largest in the northern emirates by number of rooms and is looking to achieve more than a 20% profit growth in 2012.
