COMPETITION: Be chef Pierre Gagnaire's apprentice

InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) is offering aspiring chefs and ambitious foodies the chance to become celebrity chef Pierre Gagnaire's apprentice for the day when he visits the his Reflets par Pierre Gagnaire restaurant at InterContinental Dubai Festival Centre at the end of January. 

 

The winner will spend one day of intense training with the three Michelin star chef and the Reflets team, shadowing and learning new skills to gain a unique opportunity to embark on an exciting career.

To enter the competition, applicants must film a two-minute video clip that demonstrates why they should become Pierre Gagnaire's apprentice for the day.

The clips will then be judged by an internal panel at Reflets and the winner will be notified by Sunday January 22, 2012.

Entrants are encouraged to be as creative as possible with their clips and must be aged 17 or over.

All entrants must ensure they can be available on any day during chef Pierre Gagnaire’s visit, which is scheduled to last from January 26-31, 2012.

Olivier Biles, Head Chef at Reflets par Pierre Gagnaire, said: “This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for all aspiring chefs in Dubai. Many of Chef Pierre’s junior chefs that have demonstrated potential have grown within the company, working in several of his restaurants around the world, and this is a fantastic opportunity to get your foot in the door.

“We’re looking for serious, hard-working would-be chefs to enter this competition, people who live and breathe food and share his passion for creating wonderfully unique dishes.”

The competition is now open for entries and and the deadline for entries is at 5pm on Tuesday January 17, 2012.
