IHG introduces staff uniforms across two brands

James Clarey, January 29th, 2012

Intercontinental Hotel Group (IHG) has launched its first branded uniforms for the Holiday Inn and Crowne Plaza hotels across Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

The uniforms have been adopted by 15,000 employees at 270 Holiday Inns and Crowne Plaza Hotels in 17 countries, with more expected to be added on a monthly basis. IHG anticipates that by the end of Q1 2012 all hotel staff will be wearing the uniforms.

The company has been working with London-based Jermyn Street Design for three years to design and supply the uniform, which has undergone working trials to ensure it meets the needs of all working conditions.

As well as needing to meet budgetary demands, the uniforms also had to be adapted to be wearable in different climate and cultural conditions and match the image of the two hotel brands.

Elisabeth Bogensperger, manager – brand management Europe for Holiday Inn, said: “Jermyn Street Design has been an excellent partner, helping us to develop a bespoke uniform range that will enhance the Holiday Inn brand image and provide employees with a great uniform to wear. They have also worked closely with us to ensure unit costs are competitive and the range is great value for money.”
