Hyatt International will open three new hotels in Saudi Arabia bringing the chain's number of hotels under development in the Kingdom to six.
A Hyatt affiliate signed a deal with Naseel Holding Company to open a Park Hyatt in Riyadh, as well as a Hyatt Regency and a Grand Hyatt in Jeddah.
The first of the three hotels to open will be the 240-room Hyatt Regency Jeddah in the second half of 2015, located in the city centre close to Tahliyah Square. The hotel will also feature three restaurants, two lounges and 1700 m² for events and meetings, as well as a ballroom and spa.
In Q4 2015, Park Hyatt Riyadh is slated to open in the Olaya District. The 275-room property will also include three restaurants, a lounge, ballroom, spa and fitness centre.
Finally, in early 2016, will be the 400-room Grand Hyatt Jeddah in the city centre, with 5700 m² of meeting and events space, as well a spa, fitness centre and three restaurants.
Peter Fulton, managing director for Hyatt International, South West Asia, said in a statement: “The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is an important market for Hyatt, having just increased our worldwide sales team to include on the ground support in the country. Expanding the number of Hyatt-branded hotels in the Kingdom will be a significant step towards our goal of being the preferred brand for global travellers, and we are pleased to be working with Naseel Holding Company to manage these outstanding new properties.”
Majid Al Ibrahim, chairman of Naseel Holding Company, said: “The addition of the Hyatt brand to our portfolio of hotels in the Kingdom is greatly welcomed and we are pleased to be part of Hyatt’s strong commitment to the Kingdom and the hospitality sector and we are confident that the three new buildings are going to be a very valuable addition to the two great cities of Riyadh and Jeddah.”
There is only one Hyatt-branded hotel in KSA currently, the Park Hyatt Jeddah, which opened in 2009.
