A traditional pearl-diving experience is being launched in Dubai by luxury hospitality company the Jumeirah Group.
The trips, which start on March 2, will see guests board an authentic dhow boat in traditional costume and use original methods to collect oysters. They will also take part in singing and story-telling and be served authentic Emirati cuisine. Diving to depths of three to five metres, guests will also be able to keep any pearls they find as souvenirs.
Trips, which are being run by the Pavilion Dive Centre in partnership with the Emirates Marine Environmental Group, start from Palm Jebel Ali, and busses are provided from Jumeirah Beach hotel.
The experience costs AED 700 for adults and AED 500 for children, and runs from 9am to 3pm Tuesday to Saturday.
