Salalah Marriott cuts rates by 20% for anniversary

Louise Oakley, February 21st, 2012

Salalah Marriott Resort in Oman is gearing up to celebrate its second anniversary on March 24 with a special discounted half board package.

The 237-room resort, which includes 51 beach-side chalets, is cutting its regular rates by 20% to offer a new Escape Dining Package valid until June 30, 2012.

Priced at OR56, the promotion includes an overnight stay in a Single or Double Deluxe Room, breakfast and dinner in the Sumhuram Restaurant, 17% taxes and service charges and complimentary airport transfer.

Salalah Marriott Resort director of sales and marketing Ahmed El-Meligui, who joined the hotel during pre-opening in October 2010, said the hotel had experienced “two years of successful operation”.

“We can look back on a very successful second year of operation and it fulfills me with great pleasure to see this place growing every year stronger in the market,” said El-Meligui.

“Through the continuous support and the dedication of the whole team, the management and the owning company, Salalah Marriott Resort has itself well positioned in the market.

“We were able to increase our total number of rooms sold by 10% from 2010 to 2011 which is a great success, considering the mainly compressed market of the Dhofar Region,” El-Meligui added.

Salalah Marriott Resort is the only Marriott-branded hotel operating in Oman.
