Fast food restaurant franchise Just Falafel has announced its involvement in sports through the new sponsorship of a tennis champion-in-the-making, Karim Najia.
Najia is the number one tennis player in the UAE for the Under 14 category, and Just Falafel bosses hope the deal will demonstrate the new sports and lifestyle direction the brand is taking as part of their ‘healthy eating and healthy living’ philosophy.
The sponsorship deal will include financial support for all expenses including coaching tournament fees, travelling costs and equipment.
“We are delighted to be backing Karim Najia for the 2012 competitive season," said Just Falafel CEO Fadi Malas. "We were keen to move into sports and feel that the values and aims of Karim and his family match those of Just Falafel perfectly. We are looking forward to working together with Karim during his forthcoming competitions, where we will be supporting him 100%.”
Najia started playing tennis at the age of three and half with his father, who noticed his natural talent for the sport. He has since trained with Peter Burwash International, before moving to the Al Wasl club. In the recent years Karim has won the Under 12 national title twice and he is currently leading the Under 14 table for 2011/12.
As well as his training and competitions, Najia has also played with some of the greats of the game: Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal.
Najia commented: “I am incredibly grateful for the support of Just Falafel and their faith in me as I progress through this season. I am looking forward to our partnership over the year ahead and playing to the best of my ability.”
