Leading technology firm Infor has announced that hotels’ main concern with new technology is speed.
Andrew Turton, director of sales in the MEA and Asia for financial hospitality solutions at Infor, told Hotelier Middle East that he has experienced a lot of hotels routing data through unnecessary channels due to the software not being specific enough.
Turton said: “So many operations send data everywhere and it passes through places it doesn’t need to be. We get it from A-B. IHG can close its books and have the data sent to the CEO in 24 hours now.”
Infor has recently launched Infor10, which integrates industry-specific programs into packages which are easily adaptable for every hotel set-up.
Tim Szabronski, Infor’s regional vice president of sales for UK, Middle East and Africa, said: “We don’t use the same product for different industries. Saying you can go to an aircraft manufacturer, an orange grower and a hotel with the same application is ridiculous – you need to have something that is specific for that industry.
“That is what Infor10 is about – it’s a way of connecting together these industry-specific applications and sharing parts amongst them.”
