Hyatt implements new CSR policies

James Clarey, March 13th, 2012

Hyatt is introducing teams to each of its divisional offices worldwide in a new initiative to increase corporate responsibility within the company.

Although each hotel already has a green team, which is in charge of leading the hotels’ efforts within the local community, the new roles will create a uniformed attempt to help with environmental and community issues.

Brigitta Witt, Hyatt’s global vice president of corporate responsibility, has been travelling around the world to organise the project.

Witt said: “At the moment each hotel has a green team, which are groups of employees that have a very specific charge to really get their hotel’s environmental goals and objectives implemented. But now we’re just raising it up one more level and making sure our divisional officers have an equal amount of responsibility.”

She added: “We do things fast in this company. I think it will only take a few months for everybody to sort out their roles and I think everybody’s very passionate and enthusiastic about their responsibilities.”
