More than 100 GMs to attend Qatar debate

Hotelier Middle East Staff, March 25th, 2012

More than 100 general managers from across the region are expected to attend the second annual Hotelier Middle East Qatar General Manager Debate on April 11 at the Grand Hyatt Doha.

The agenda for the event has been created to address the impact of the additional supply on hoteliers through panel discussions, interactive workshops and keynote presentations.

High-profile speakers lined up for the Hotelier Middle East Qatar GM Debate 2012 include St Regis Doha general manager Tarek Derbas, Rotana area vice president – Lebanon, Qatar, Bahrain and Kuwait Joseph Coubat and Four Seasons regional vice president and general manager Simon Casson.

Panel sessions and keynote presentations will cover everything from Qatar’s changing hotel landscape and achieving world-class F&B, to attracting the corporate traveller and the road ahead.

There will also be a series of workshops offering practical management advice on topics such as staffing and recruitment, digital and social media and revenue management.

ITP Business group editor hospitality Louise Oakley commented: “The Qatar GM Debate is the only industry conference to bring together general managers operating hotels in Qatar. While eyes elsewhere may be on the 2022 World Cup, these savvy hoteliers understand the short- and medium challenges facing the hotel business today. This forum will enable them to discuss these issues in the open, with the goal of furthering business opportunities for everyone, thus setting the industry on the right path for the next decade”.
