InterContinental Doha has welcomed Gilles Nicolas as its new resident manager from Holiday Inn Dubai Al Barsha.
The French national has 17 years’ experience in the hospitality industry, having worked across three different continents in five countries and has a business degree in hotel management from Hospitality School Paris.
Nicolas moves from his position as director of operations at Holiday Inn Dubai Al Barsha, which he successfully opened, and includes 10 F&B outlets. Under his leadership, the hotel went on to win the ‘IHG Quality Excellence’ award in 2010.
Nicolas said: “As the resident manager of the hotel, my focus will be on quality and satisfaction of our guests. My leadership style is people-oriented. I see my role as a support role for the operations team so that they have the right tools and resources to serve and please all our guests above their expectations.”
He has worked for IHG for eight years in both Dubai and the UK, starting at the Holiday Inn London Regent’s Park as F&B manager before being promoted to acting operations manager after one year.
