Fairmont trains staff to become golf concierges

Fairmont has hired Troon Golf, a management company, to train concierge and Fairmont Gold staff in the sport, teaching them about amenities and terminology, in Dubai and Bab Al Bahr, Abu Dhabi.

The new measure comes as a result of an increased demand in the use of golfing services in the UAE. The resorts have also added new amenities, such as the ability to book tee times directly through the resorts, with those who do so enjoying complimentary use of Taylor Made golf clubs for Fairmont President Club members.

The Bab Al Bahr resort has also added a new golfing holiday package, available Sunday to Wednesday until September 30. The package, which starts from AED 1049 includes one night accommodation, one round of golf for two people, afternoon tea for two and use of the health club, pool and beach.

As a result of this new emphasis, Fairmont Bab al Bahr has added a golf vacation package to its extensive list of offerings. The Tea In and Tee Off Golf Package is available Sunday through Wednesday from now until September 30, 2012.
