Zlatko Gersak has joined Yas Island Rotana at its Blue Grill steakhouse as speciality chef, in charge of the kitchen operation.
The Croatian national started his career aged 17, and has since worked with international hotel chains such as Renaissance, Hilton and Le Meridien. Prior to this position, Gersak was working at Kempinski Resort Amman.
Gersak said: “I am delighted to join Blue Grill’s team and be part of a successful operation. The steakhouse has been established and has a great reputation in the market and I look forward to working with the team on creative menus and promotions tailored to our guests and patrons and bring the restaurant up to the next level.”
Darren Andow, executive chef of Yas Island Rotana and Centro Yas Island, said: “I am pleased to welcome Chef Zlatko to the team, with his experience and knowledge I am confident that he will bring new ideas and a unique touch to the well established Blue Grill. The classy steakhouse opened its doors in October 2009 and with the persistence of the team and intensive training we reached where we are today.”
