Ibn Battuta Gate welcomes Man U manager for Euros

Movenpick Hotel Ibn Battuta Gate Dubai has welcomed football legend ‘Big Ron’ Atkinson, who will attend most of the games at the venue.

Fans will be able to rub shoulders with the former Manchester United manager, turned commentator and pundit, at the majority of the 31 games which the hotel will screen. Atkinson managed Manchester United from 1980 until 1987, when he moved on to manage teams such as Sheffield Wednesday, Aston Villa and Atletico Madrid.

The games will be shown in the Al Bahou atrium, which will be converted into a life-like football pitch with two large, three-metre by four and a half-metre screens.

There will also be a VIP area, entrance to which is AED 395 (US $108) and 495 (US $135) per person per day. Entrance to the fan zone is free, with food and drink available.
