Rotana renames Lebanon Hazmieh to 'Tamar Rotana'

James Clarey, July 16th, 2012

Rotana has changed the name of its Hazmieh Rotana property in Beirut to Tamar Rotana.

The change comes as part of an overall renewal process, which was initiated by the new hotel manager, Ursula Chidiac, who joined the property in April this year.

Chidiac said: "We chose the word ‘tamar’ because it carries the Arabic meaning of a bountiful harvest of dates, a fruitful outcome and warm hospitality. It directly relates to the concept of the Rotana palm tree, the fruit of Rotana and so this fruit represents a life-long friend, corresponding to the loyalty we share with our customers."

The hotelier added: "Tamar Rotana is a name full of Rotana values based on hospitality from various aspects and we are always keen to provide full-fledged integrated services to present a complete enjoyable experience."

The property features 146 rooms and five suites, and is located a five minute drive from Rafic Hariri International Airport.
