Crowne Plaza Kuwait to add 200-room extension

The Crowne Plaza Kuwait is currently under a phase of expansion, with more than 200 rooms and a conference centre being added.

One floor of the expansion includes a 2000 square metre ballroom and events centre, while the second floor will include a conference theatre and an auditorium.

Additional to the business facilities, there will be an extra 200 units built around the events centre. All of the additions are scheduled to be on-line by the end of next year.

“[The extension] is substantial – it is a heritage property that was converted from a Holiday Inn a long time ago,” said director of operations for the Northern Gulf, IHG, Michael Koth.

“It will be mostly rooms, extra accommodation for the Crowne Plaza, and some suites, but it will complement the hotel quite well, and they’ll be running an inventory of literally 500 rooms,” he added.
