Dusit Thani Dubai sees events business rocket

Dusit Thani Dubai has witnessed an increase in its events sector of 15% in the first half of 2012, compared to the same period last year.

The hotel reported rises across the board in the sector, with social events rising 12% alone.

“There has been a steady increase in people looking to host celebrations and social events across Dubai and with the festive season ahead we are positive on seeing a continued growth in the number of events hosted at Dusit Thani Dubai,” said the hotel’s events sales manager Inna Asmanova.

Senior sales manager for MICE at the property, Donna Atanacio, attributed the rise in businesses coming to the emirate for corporate events to more airlines increasing their routes to Dubai, which is “making the emirate more accessible”.

“Dubai has become a significant hub for business and trade, linking the East with the West,” she added.

“The region’s warm climate and sunshine along with its record for being a safe destination have made Dubai specifically appealing to both the leisure and business travellers alike,” Atanacio concluded.
