The Torch Doha in Qatar has introduced an iPad control system for all of its 163 guestrooms and suites.
The iPad solutions, custom-developed and implemented by Mahindra Satyam, allow guests to control aspects of the room such as temperature, lighting and curtains.
It also allows guests to be connected to hotel services, and order in-room dining, set their room to do not disturb or request a make-up service.
“We have re-defined the idea of luxury service in the Middle East hospitality. Introducing the iPad system in all rooms and suites shows that our vision focuses on guest convenience, control and speed of service. Guests can now enjoy a new found autonomy while we streamlined our operation,” The Torch Doha hotel manager Sherif Sabry said.
Guests will be able to also access the internet on the iPads, allowing them to read newspapers, listen to music and watch videos. Accessible in both English and Arabic, it includes a Qibla app, which locates Mecca from praying guests.
“There is no greater satisfaction for us, as a newly opened property, than achieving this performance on our first year of operation. We are glad to be able to enhance customer experience and pioneer customer engagement technology in Qatar. Ultimately we trust that guests will enjoy our interactive services and spread the word for us,” Sabry added.
