Cristal Hotels appoints Abu Dhabi cluster GM

Cristal Hotels and Resorts has appointed Sid Sattanathan as cluster general manager for its two properties in Abu Dhabi.

Sattanathan comes to the group with more than 25 years of experience in the hospitality industry, having began his career in the front office, and moved through distribution and revenue management.

He then moved into regional management roles with Pegasus, Millennium Hotels and IHG in Singapore, Sydney and Amsterdam.

The hotelier moved back into operations as executive assistant manager at Crowne Plaza Abu Dhabi and, in 2009, launched Holiday Inn Abu Dhabi.

“I am delighted to be assuming my new responsibilities as general manager at such an exciting phase of growth at Cristal Hotels and Resorts,” said Sid Sattanathan. “I am confident that my experience and knowledge of the local market, combined with my passion for the hospitality industry, will help me take Cristal Hotels & Resorts to the next level.”

In his new role, he will be responsible for overseeing 304 rooms and suites across the two properties.
