New app released to help hotels cut energy bills

Hansgrohe, manufacturer of bathroom fittings and showerheads, has unveiled an online savings calculator that could help hotels cut energy and water consumption.

Hansgrohe unveiled its newest online application as the world’s leading water experts gather in Abu Dhabi this week for the World Future Energy and International Water Summit.

The calculator demonstrates the environmental benefits and cost savings offered by Hansgrohe’s pioneering EcoSmart technology.

“The number of environmentally-aware tourists is on the increase as more and more travellers consider their impact on the environment and express a desire to be sustainable. The hotel industry needs to fulfil this desire in order to sustain its future development and we hope that the savings calculator will help make both the hospitality industry and individuals increasingly aware of the value of water,“ said Hansgrohe sales director for the Middle East Dirk Schilmoeller.

Hansgrohe’s EcoSmart technology has been installed at the Al Forsan Hilton Hotel, Abu Dhabi, due for completion in 2013 as well as the International Shooting Club, Abu Dhabi.

The company claims that mixers and showerheads fitted with the EcoSmart technology consume up to 60% less water than conventional products without any loss of comfort while lower hot water consumption also results in lower CO2 emissions and lower costs.
