New brand Mourouj Hotels and Resorts has signed a management contract for the five-star Concorde Hotel in Fujairah, effective February 1.

Now called Concorde by Mourouj Hotels and Resorts, the hotel joins a portfolio of three properties already operated by the Abu Dhabi based hotel management company.

These include the Mourouj Hotel Apartments and Executive Suites by Mourouj in Abu Dhabi and the Khalidia Hotel Apartments in Dubai.

The three properties were previously operated under the V.Continents brand.

Mourouj Hotels and Resorts managing director Tarek Elsherif said the company had signed two more hotels currently under construction — a hotel in Jeddah and a boutique resort in Al Ain.

“This will be a very special and unique hunting resort in Al Ain, opening in September 2013,” said Elsherif. “It will comprise 12 high class VIP chalets and offer guests the opportunity to go shooting in the desert on pre-arranged hunting trips.”

He said it would be a seasonal retreat, operated only between September and April, closing for the summer season.

All hotels operated by Mourouj Hotels and Resorts are alcohol-free and designed to offer guests a healthy environment.
