Jordan installs live-stream 'tourism webcams'
Jordan Tourism Board (JTB) has partnered with Earthcam to launch a number of live-streaming webcams in tourism spots around the country.
The initiative, sponsored by Zain Jordan, is said to be the first of its kind in the Middle East.
“This will not only show that Jordan is unaffected by the political turbulence that has been going on around the region, but will also showcase the beauty of the sites day and night,” said Jordan Tourism Board managing director Dr Abed al Razzaq Arabiyyat.
Cameras focus on points including the Citadel in Amman, Aqaba, Petra, the first webcam shooting one of the seven new world wonders, and the world’s lowest webcam at the Dead Sea.
EarthCam delivers webcam content, technology and services and the Jordan cameras are available 24/7 at no cost to the public.
“We are thrilled to partner with the Jordan Tourism Board to give people around the world the chance to experience the country from several unique perspectives,” said EarthCam network product specialist Clarissa Ramirez.
