CHI Hospitality plans Soho Bar and Grill expansion

Dubai is set to see a further two Soho restaurants open within the next year, following the successful launch of the first Soho Bar and Grill, which held its launch party in Dubai’s Century Village on March 12.

Speaking exclusively to Caterer, Howard Johnson, operations manager for CHI Hospitality, explained that Century Village was the “perfect location for the brand’s prototype”.

“There are three variants to the Soho concept: Soho Bar and Grill which is a full format licensed version; Soho Grill which is a full format non-licensed version, which we will be opening later this year on Sheikh Zayed Road and Soho Grill Express – a kiosk-style version for upmarket food courts, the first of which we are launching at WAFI Mall,” he said.

At the official opening of Soho Bar and Grill, media and VIP guests were able to experience the extensive selection of meaty meals including a real 1.2 kg Tomahawk Steak, Rack of Lamb, Rib eye on the Bone, and topping off the Soho Menu — Soho Beef Degustation with beef served in seven different ways over seven courses.

“This lively, buzzed eatery is designed for people to get together and enjoy their food in an uplifting, upbeat environment,” said Ara Nakhnikian, CEO of CHI Hospitality. “Soho Bar and Grill is perfect for a big night out, for people who celebrate living, and that’s what we did with the opening — a big media night out,” he added.

One of the unique things about Soho is the restaurant’s specialties, prepared via three plus cooking methods. Soho Buffalo wings, for instance are first marinated, then smoked, char grilled and oven baked in their own sauce, as opposed to conventional deep frying.

“It’s a fantastic venue and a great addition to the social scene in Century Village,” said George Horan, president of Dubai Duty Free, one of the guests at the event. “We wish Soho Bar and Grill every success and look forward to their upcoming promotions and events,” he added.
