Moevenpick Hotels & Resorts plan to steal the limelight at the upcoming Arabian Travel Market (ATM) by unveiling ambitious plans for worldwide expansion over the next three years.
The Swiss-born upscale hotel company currently has 30 projects under development worldwide with 10 properties set to open with the next 12 months in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Morocco, Thailand, the Philippines and China.
In Dubai, Moevenpick Hotel Jumeriah Lakes Towers will become its sixth property in the country with the heavily-delayed Moevenpick Hotel & Spa Oceana on The Palm Jumeirah – which the company had planned to open back in 2010 before its management deal stalled and the contract with Seven Tides cancelled – is back in the pipeline and will eventually bring Moevenpick’s Dubai tally to seven.
The group will also mark a total of 10 hotels in Saudi Arabia when Moevenpick Hotel Riyadh opens in Q1 2014 with 433 rooms and suites.
The hotelier’s 30-strong hotel line-up at this year’s ATM is the largest gathering of the company’s properties at any exhibition.
Dubai’s ATM exhibition takes place from 6 to 9 May 2013, Sheikh Saeed Arena Hall, at Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre (DICEC).
