Moevenpick Hotels and Resorts has revealed its ‘Summer Savings’ promotional program that is predicted to sell 30,000 rooms across the group in 2013, double the 15,000 rooms sold during the promotion in 2012.
The ‘Summer Savings’ program will include discounts of up to 30% across 75 Moevenpick hotels and resorts across Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia including new regional properties such as Moevenpick Hotel Apartments The Square Dubai and Moevenpick Sharm El Sheikh in Egypt.
Speaking during Arabian Travel Market (ATM) Moevenpick Ibn Battuta Gate Hotel, Dubai general manager Michael Nugent said: “One of Moevenpick’s key developments after (ATM) is the launch of our summer promotion, which last year sold 15,000 rooms and we’re hoping to double that this year to 30,000. In a market such as Dubai, these summer programs are keeping business up all year round and the traditional lean periods of the year are staring to disappear.”
Nugent also spoke about the increasing popularity of the Ibn Battuta Gate Hotel’s all-inclusive packages, that he claims makes it only the second hotel in Dubai to offer a full-board program alongside beach club access.
“Our all inclusive packages tend to appeal massively to the family market because when you’re travelling with children costs in hotels can very quickly mount up. Having spoken to the travel operators after running our all-inclusive packages last year, they were all extremely keen for us to renew the program.
"It is a win-win situation where they are driving the volume, we are getting the guests, and when you have multiple food and beverage outlets like we do then we have plenty of extra capacity to absorb any extra strain,” added Nugent.
