Vanessa Waldow has been appointed as the director of sales & marketing at the Grand Millennium Dubai.
Waldow joins the Grand Millennium hotel from her last position as sales and marketing manager at the Melia Dubai Hotel, where she worked for two years from the opening of the property in Bur Dubai.
Welcoming her to the Grand Millennium Dubai, general manager Peter Mansourian said: “The hotel is set to benefit from Vanessa’s extensive experience and her in-depth knowledge of the overseas leisure and corporate sectors as well as the GCC market. With her background, Vanessa will be instrumental in taking forward our business development strategy.”
Waldow first began her career in hospitality at the InterContinental Berlin after the completion of her studies before moving overseas to Doha to become sales manager and later senior sales manager at the Sheraton Doha Hotel & Resort.
Staying with Starwood, Waldow transferred to Abu Dhabi to take over as deputy director of sales for the leisure segment, staying four years at the Sheraton Abu Dhabi Hotel & Resort before moving to Dubai as pre and post-opening director of sales for two Four Points by Sheraton Hotels.
Combining both her sales skills and experience across all sectors of business, Waldow then joined the JAL group as cluster director of sales for the Hotel JAL Tower Dubai and the Hotel JAL Fujairah Resort & Spa.
