InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) has opened the doors to the Holiday Inn Riyadh Medan in downtown Riyadh, the company’s fourth in the Saudi capital.
The eight-storey hotel, which is located close to the business district, Olaya, has 290 rooms including 46 suites featuring Jacuzzi baths in the ensuite bathrooms.
The hotel provides several dining outlets, including an all-day dining restaurant situated in the hotel’s atrium, plus a gym with sauna and spa facilities for leisure travellers and a kid’s area which caters to the KSA’s burgeoning family market.
The business, conferences and events markets are also provided for at the hotel, which includes a conference floor providing 16 meeting rooms that include larger venues offering a capacity of up to 120 people.
Chief operating officer for India, Middle East and Africa at IHG, Pascal Gauvin, commented: “We are excited to see Holiday Inn Riyadh Meydan welcome its first guests through the doors. IHG opened its hotel in KSA in 1975 and the Kingdom continues to be a major focus for the hotel group, representing the largest pipeline for new hotel openings in the region with a further seven hotels scheduled to open in Saudi Arabia by 2018.
