Asian hospitality group Dusit International will open new residences and suites in Doha’s West Bay in Q4 2013 in what it says has been the company’s “year of expansion”.
The 194-key residences and suites in Doha follows the soft opening of its Abu Dhabi hotel earlier this year and marks the brand's debut in Qatar. It is, however, the company’s sixth property in the Middle East.
The property will be located in the heart of Doha’s diplomatic district overlooking the Doha Corniche with views across the Arabian Gulf. The building’s proximity to the Malls, Doha Exhibition Centre and the upcoming Doha International Conference and Exhibition Centre is expected to appeal to both short and long-stay guests travelling on leisure or business.
Dusit International Regional Director of Development - Europe, Middle East and Africa, Andrew Shaw said: “This announcement clearly demonstrates our commitment to expand the Dusit portfolio on a global basis, and our strategic plan to establish and strengthen our presence in key gateway cities, particularly within the Middle East.”
“Qatar offers enormous potential and is a significant market for Dusit. This is an exceptional property which fits well into Dusit’s portfolio.
The property will set new standards in terms of product quality and levels of service within the vicinity, and it’s positioned to meet the exacting requirements of today’s corporate and leisure traveller.”
Dusit International has confirmed is actively seeking luxury hotel and serviced residence management opportunities within the region, focusing on the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Oman, and to further solidify its presence within the United Arab Emirates where it has been operating for over a decade.
