The Bar Team of the Year Award at last night’s Caterer Middle East Awards went to Cavalli Club, Restaurant and Lounge in Dubai.

Picking up the award for raising the bar in customer service, Cavalli's winning team has developed in-house training and a development programme to ensure smooth operations and created a practical working space, resulting in a winning mentality among staff, which has seen sales soar and the club build a regular clientele.

The team were in high spirits after receiving the award from Joe Akiki, head of sales for the award's sponsor, Patchi. Speaking to Hoteliermiddleeast.com, Cavalli operations manager, Hayan Abou Assali said: “Team work for the Cavalli Club means to multitask, to share in the good and the bad and improve the experience for Cavalli. This is for the whole team who work so hard.”

Z:ONE Bar & Terrace at the Media One Hotel, Dubai, was Highly Commended by the judges for successfully making changes at the bar, including refurbishing the terrace and introducing new options in the menu. The success is reflected in the bar’s revenue, which is up 32% compared to 2012, with a 25% increase in covers.

The Cavalli Club team beat off extremely stiff completion from Crowne Plaza Dubai’s Belgian Beer Cafe, Nelson’s at Media Rotana Dubai, and the Infiniti Pool & Lounge at Sofitel Dubai JBR.
