Accor hotels receive EarthCheck certification

Novotel & Ibis Deira City Centre and Suite Novotel & Ibis Mall of the Emirates have achieved the EartchCheck Certified status under EC3 Global’s EarchCheck certification program.

The program responds to major environment issues facing the planet including climate change, waste reduction and non-renewable resource management.

The certification process involves either onsite audit or offsite assessment by an EarthCheck approved third party auditor.

Prior to achieving the certification, the two hotels were benchmarked using EarthCheck’s criteria against environmental indicators such as energy and water consumption, waste sent to landfills, and community development.

Novotel & Ibis Deira City Centre and Suite Novotel & Ibis Mall of the Emirates’ general manager, Tristan Beau de Lomenie said: “Novotel & Ibis Deira City Centre and Suite Novotel & Ibis Mall of the Emirates, in conjunction with Earth Check demonstrate our corporate social responsibility with the aim of introducing key initiatives towards creating a sustainable future. We continuously monitor our hotel's performance and therefore identify areas that need improvements.”
