TCA AD revs up for British Grand Prix promotion

Parinaaz Navdar, June 17th, 2013

The Abu Dhabi Tourism & Culture Authority will promote the upcoming Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix at the British Grand Prix to drive ticket sales for its November event.

Promotional activities planned by TCA Abu Dhabi include fan competitions, giveaways, and direct sales counters to encourage British fans to purchase tickets.

TCA Abu Dhabi will also sponsor the Whittlebury Park campsite, which will be renamed the Abu Dhabi Fan Zone during the race and will offer free Wi-Fi and gift bags with amenities for race-going campers.

Furthermore, the Whittlebury Park Golf Club will also host an Abu Dhabi pavilion, which will feature henna artists, falconers and Arabic calligraphy artists.

Yas Marina Circuit chief executive officer Richard Cregan said: “The international profile of the Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, and Abu Dhabi as its host city continues to grow at a tremendous pace. Last year, we welcomed our largest international audience to date and this year, we are building upon that success through leveraging a wide array of marketing and sales initiatives to increase footfall from one of the emirate’s key international source markets."

The Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix will be held at the Yas Marina Circuit from November 1-3 2013.
