Sofitel Dubai Jumeirah Beach welcomes new GM

Sofitel Dubai Jumeirah Beach has appointed Bernd Schneider as its new general manager, who will oversee the day-to-day operations of the 438-roomed hotel.

Schneider, who brings 32 years of hospitality experience across Europe, Asia and the Middle East to the role, joins the Sofitel Dubai Jumeirah Beach from the Magnifique Sofitel Mumbai, India where he spent three years as GM and led the team in the successful opening of the country’s first Sofitel hotel.

Sofitel Middle East, Africa & Indian Ocean senior vice president of operations Sami Nasser said: “We are delighted to have Bernd overseeing the daily operations of this prominent beachfront property, whilst reinforcing the positioning of the Sofitel brand across the region. Having Bernd on board strengthens our regional team and our pursuit of targeted developments in key cities and major tourist destinations across the Middle East.”

Born in Germany, Schneider graduated from Hotel and Catering College, Bad Woerishofen and worked throughout Germany, France, Austria and Spain in various food and beverage positions, before joining the Accor Group in 1992. Schneider later went on to hold positions as general manager at Sofitel Philippines Plaza, Manila, as well as regional delegate general manager of the Accor, Philippines.

Sofitel Dubai Jumeirah Beach is located in Jumeirah Beach Residence (JBR) and features 438 rooms and suites with views over the Arabian Gulf as well as six restaurants, bars and lounges.
