French brand Sofitel Luxury Hotels has opened its flagship resort in the Middle East with the launch of Sofitel The Palm Dubai, now receiving guests.

Located on Dubai’s Palm Jumeirah, the 100,000m² property comprises 361 rooms and suites and 182 serviced apartments.

The design fuses Sofitel’s French origins with Polynesian culture, with vertical gardens created by botanist Patrick Blanc one of the highlights.

Sofitel The Palm general manager Christophe Schnyder said: “The new Sofitel The Palm Dubai epitomises understated luxury combined with the utmost comfort.

“As our portfolio continues to grow across the world, we strive to meet the sophisticated needs of today’s versatile travellers who expect and appreciate beauty, quality and excellence. I am confident that this spectacular resort will attract both global and regional discerning travelers and groups.”

The resort offers 10 bars, restaurants and lounges, including signature steakhouse Porterhouse, Chinese restaurant Hong Loong, which doubles as an art gallery, and Studio du Chef, a French outlet with a focus on cheese and wine.

Other facilities includes a 700-capacity ballroom and a 2500m² So Spa.
